I DO...Love the Dress

Now, I'm sure you can read all over the net about this (already) infamous dress! My opinion? It was perfect! It is perfect! For the event, for the bride, for a Great Britten princes!

A Sarah Burton-designed Alexander McQueen dress! Information about the dress:
The lace appliqué for the bodice and skirt was hand-made by the Royal School of Needlework, based at Hampton Court Palace. The lace design was hand-engineered (appliquéd) using the Carrickmacross lace-making technique, which originated in Ireland in the 1820s. Individual flowers have been hand-cut from lace and hand-engineered onto ivory silk tulle to create a unique and organic design, which incorporates the rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock.

Hand-cut English lace and French Chantilly lace has been used throughout the bodice and skirt, and has been used for the underskirt trim. With laces coming from different sources, much care was taken to ensure that each flower was the same color. The whole process was overseen and put together by hand by Ms Burton and her team.

The dress is made with ivory and white satin gazar. The skirt echoes an opening flower, with white satin gazar arches and pleats. The train measures two meters 70 centimeters. The ivory satin bodice, which is narrowed at the waist and padded at the hips, draws on the Victorian tradition of corsetry and is a hallmark of Alexander McQueen’s designs. The back is finished with 58 gazar and organza covered buttons fastened by Rouleau loops. The underskirt is made of silk tulle trimmed with Cluny lace.
How can you not love this dress?...It's just a true love story...From: Fashionologie

Barry McGee...would you paint walls for me?

Here's the thing: I have a few huge, 5m tall, white walls. And I do love how perfect and tall they are...but at the same time, they are screaming for some color! That's how Barry McGee got in the picture!

Now, you can't say I'm a fan of his work, you can't say I'm in love with his work. But you CAN say I'm obsessed with his work!!!! The murals, the paintings, the bottles...the graffiti! Ohhhh! I so want him to paint my walls!!! :)))

I'm sure most of you know who Barry McGee aka. Ray Fong, Lydia Fong, or Twist is! Surely you know him by at least one of his monikers! In just a few words, he is an artist. Painter and graffiti artist, from San Francisco, USA.
His illustrations, characters and color combination are very well known all over the world. My personal favorite creation of his, are the painted portraits of street characters on empty bottles of liquor, painted flattened spray cans picked up at train yards and painted wrecked vehicles for art shows.
I remember a street artist from Berlin once said: every piece of trash can become art. You just have to look at it in a certain way....I guess Barry McGee figured that out way before...

If you want to learn more about this amazing artist, you don't need to read about his life. Learn his story trough his work! I'm sure you'll be crazy about him just like me!

Now...what to do with my walls?...I want something like this...:

I really don't need to say anything...uh, he's sooo much sooooo! :)

The Wedding Season

Has officially opened!
Oh joy, oh joy! This year I promise to take pictures (or to hunt down the brides) of the wedding dresses I'll be making. In just one week, 7 more got added to the list.
And I couldn't be more happy, because I'm a true believer in love and happily ever after!

So, in order to celebrate the opening of the wedding season, I give you: Valerya (a photo shoot by Amber Gray). Everything is like a fairytale, but with a twist (just the way I like it). Even so, it all seems to fit perfectly together!

Now, I don't necessarily like the dresses (even thought some details are to-die-for), I am just in love with the pictures!!! It's because of all the spooky animals, I'm sure! From: ZAC-fashion

in Romanian...

Urmarirea (de la o distanta sigura)
Ma intreb uneori ce face,
Nu e o fixatie, nici o obsesie.
Doar ma intreb.
Nu cercetez, nu urmaresc.
N-as vrea sa aflu altceva.
Incerc sa par interesant,
Iar asta nu vine decat cu distanta.
Distanta aduce separare
Separarea duce in alte parti.
Cand partile se impart,
Nu se mai intalnesc.
E oarecum ironic,
Dar cert.
Avem mereu o singura sansa,
La orice.

A big sorry to all of you that don't speak Romanian...I usually don't do this, but this text has been obsessing me for almost a while now and I just had to get it out of my system!
So here I am posting it!

Oh Boys! You Trendy Boy!

ok boys!
I decided it was time to take care of you and your problems. Fashion related ones...as far as other things, I don't think I can be of any help...

So, here we have thanks to GQ Magazine, the trends! You can find inspiring images and all the information you need in order to be the trendiest of your friends (and maybe more).

I love the fact that colors are so "in" also in the men department. Also, the double-breasted jackets are to die for! Military is ok (but maybe for the young ones), but the flower trend is a little off for my taste. With all the trends, my personal favorite (no surprise here, I guess) is the paint splatter!...all because of the I Scream SPLASH!From: Fucking Young

Speak to MOI!

I am very excited by this project!
It's just a perfect combination between typography, photography and video! The videos were done as a campaign for EF Language
(the images are part of the videos, just to show some details).

How better to learn a language then by living in the language's most infamous city? By doing so, you can connect images with words, the actions with phrases, the feelings with questions. That's why the campaign has a perfect motto: Live the Language

A Wood Mac Case...

...handmade to perfection! All thanks to the Silva Ltd brand, that decided to make the MacBook case more stylish, elegant and old-school!
Why do they think their case is so great? Here:
Why have a case if it doesn’t have a handle? Do you really want to hide half your case under your arm? Silva LTD has designed your case so that it feels comfortable in your hand and shows off as much as it can, while still protecting your MacBook. We also made the case to cover the entire computer, not just a portion, leaving nothing to chance.
I'm sure that after reading this post most of you are wondering if I'm using a Mac. Well, I just won't go there, because (as I said before) technology really hates me!!! Yep...nothing changed.

But I have plenty of friends that just adore the fruity-brand. And most of them love bamboo, so for them this is perfection. So, it comes for the 13" and 15" MacPro, at the price of $179.99. Buy it here! Now that's a true Easter present! (for your geeky-cool-mac-user friend!)From: Holy Cool
