...Fire in the Sky!

This summer is the weirdest one yet...the hot air, the windless atmosphere, the loud music and all the work that just keeps on coming (don't get me wrong, I love it, but I'm just a little tired and overwhelmed).

So, all this mixed feelings brought me back to my childhood song (if ever a movie will be made about my life, this will be the them song). Yes, a grew up with Deep Purple (plus a few others...some other time) thinking they were the coolest guys ever.

This until I got a little older and realized that they were rock gods :))) at least as far as fashion goes (purple-the color of true rock royalty!). So, whenever looking for some rock inspiration, think purple and listen to Deep Purple!

...or just Paint it Black! :)))))

Here is Smoke on the Water . I'm sure many of your friends know to play it on the guitar...well, I don't know how that happened but believe me, it's true!
As far as I go...I play a mean Smoke on the Water on Guitar Hero! Yes, yes! I rock!!!

Banksy vs. the Bristol Museum

Like many others, I am a Banksy fan, groupie...or whatever you want to call it! So, after the exciting underground metro exhibition (last summer in London) and the pet shop, it was time for something new!

What happened, just blew my mind! Once again, he managed to surprise us. Here is the story:
...The reason the museum was closed was kept secret from top council officials. The exhibition and its location have been a closely-guarded secret since October, with just a couple of museum officials in the loop.
Museum director Kate Brindley said it was a huge relief to finally be able to talk about the exhibition, and admitted they had taken a "risk".

Plans for the summer show were kept from Bristol City Council chiefs until Friday - the day before it was due to open.
Bristol has had a love-hate relationship with Banksy since he started stencilling on the city's walls in the 1990s. There is likely to be criticism of the decision to stage an official expo of his work...
(from BBC NEWS) (Images from The Guardian)What will be achieved with this exhibit? Well, as Banksy himself said: This is the first show I’ve ever done where taxpayers’ money is being used to hang my pictures up rather than scrape them off. It's just amazing that there still are artist that manage to make us feel like little kids: surprised and happy. He's Santa!!! We don't know who he is, but we love him and can't wait for him to give us something new!...or maybe Batman (just because he looks cooler!!!)

Wedding Dress Superstitions

So, these two are the most popular. And even tough you know them, I thought it would be ok to mention them again. My only problem is with the first one: why if the one getting married is a designer? What then ?:)) Well...I guess the only response is: other designer friends :D
It is considered unlucky for the bride to make her own wedding dress.
It is considered unlucky for the groom to see the bride in her wedding dress before the Church.

But did you know this poem with colored wedding dresses? :)) OMG!!! :)))Sssso funny! And, it's easy to remember because it's a song (that's what my elementary school teacher would say). Here it is:
Married in white, you will have chosen right.
Married in gray, you will go far away.
Married in black, you will wish yourself back.
Married in red, you wish yourself dead.
Married in green, ashamed to be seen.
Married in blue, you will always be true.
Married in pearl, you will live in a whirl.
Married in yellow, ashamed of your fellow.
Married in brown, you will live out of town.
Married in pink, your fortune will sink.

Pfff...too much information! I'm also making a wedding dress for my Cutey friend Adina (the girl with the Little Candy Dress) and all this is getting me more and more confused! Even tough her dress is white.
But you know what? You should wear whatever makes you happy on your wedding day! 'cause that's what really matters! Having fun and marrying the one you love! :)
Still...the poem...so funny :))

I Am an 80's Child...And Will Never Change!

Ohhh, good-old-crazy-wrong 80s! I love that period! Somehow, for those 10 years, everybody seemed to be from another planet! :)) Fashion was taken to a whole new level! Then, everybody woke up...thinking it was all a bad dream!

But NOOO! The 80's are coming back with a vengeance, becoming one of the strongest trends right now! Before panicking, take a few minutes to think about this. As far as I'm concerned, the 80's fashion is great, but it must be moderated! Fun, fresh and crazy - the ideal combination for young people, ready to express their fashionable personality!

And if you are still not convinced, take a look at this Numero Tokyo Magazine editorial, featuring Vlada Roslyakova (and her amazing read hair). Fun Fun Fun!I'm hypnotized by all the pretty colors :))))

Colouring in Calms Me Down ...

...is the name of the s/s 2009 collection, of the New Zealand designer Jaeha-Alex Kim. The concept was inspired by French movie The Dreamers (2006) about misunderstood youth in the setting of the French student riot. The combination between loud clothes and the soft models gives such a strange contrast, that I just have to love! Soft, but at the same time rebel! As far as I'm concerned it has a very French - always a good thing in fashion:)).In 2008, Jaeha-Alex Kim was selected among the 10 finalists in the prestigious Mango Fashion Awards. You can read here more about his work, in a sort of biography.

I like it, but I must admit, it really has a Mango feeling :)
