Surely, we are talking about Pharrell Williams's song, Happy!

This song will remain in history and there's nothing to do about it. Not that we should do something about that, because it is simply a great song! Great positive lyrics, great positive music, great positive video!
Everything is perfect about it and I too adore it (and shake my whole body when I hear it)!

Now, the phenomenon isn't just plain old-school love for the song. The video is being re-made all over the world! In so many cities I can't keep up with (I like to think I've seen most of them). If you ask me...there's nothing wrong with that and I can't wait for more versions to come!

People are finally embracing the need of being happy without thinking of money, luxury items, social status, body size, color and the list can go on and on. Just smile, dance, have fun with friends, kiss a loved one... that's all you need to feel the happiness.

Last nigh, at the Oscar's was the final proof (if needed) to show my generation that this will be one of our songs!

Sometimes, you just get so tired of people telling you what to do.

I admit, listening to others opinions can be eye opening, but somehow that doesn't seem to be the case in most situations. If you ask me, people want to control you. It's somewhat of an inner designer of humans.
The need to control.

The first example that comes to mind: parents. They get used to controlling you when you are small and forget to let go when you are all grown up! My mom still tells me what to eat, who to be friend with and how to color my hair. I smile and that's about it.
*knowing how to respond in these situations is also important! To some you can say 'Ain't Nobody's Business', but with others...oh well, just 'Smile and wave boys! Smile and wave!'

You have to know when it's time to take control of your own life and make your own decisions. Good, or bad. They are all yours!

Almost Weekend

And I couldn't be happier!
It's been crazy at work for a few weeks now and I really need some time-off!

That's why I'm going to visit my dear friends in Timisoara and I know I'm going to have a great time. I always do when we go see them! Maybe I'll even have some pictures to show you when I come back (fingers crossed)

Well, actually this is the Jean Paul Gaultier spring-summer 2013 collection and it's absolutely perfect, as far as I go. Oh my! It's a pleasure to look at it and I'm sure it's crazy-fun to wear it (actually, the pieces are pretty classic, don't you agree?)

No, who do we have here? Do you recognize the stars? Well, first of all (my favorite) Grace Jones!!! I was so happy when I saw the picture, you have no idea!!! There (in no particular order) we have Madonna, Annie Lennox(very cool as well), Sade, Michael Jackson and Boy George.

Apparently, I missed the month of August. Missed as in 'wasn't around to live it'. A crazy work program kept me away from the blog, from fun, from the sun. And believe me, it's not like I'm having more free time right now..

I'm pretty sure that by now you've all heard about PORC (it's in Romanian) and about the fact that Deliric must be blamed (for this...maybe even for all). Here are the PORC products, that I am truly obsessed with!

What do I like about it? Well, besides the fact that it's hilarious, I also love: the small details like the embroiled flying pig, the colorful prints, the bad-ass attitude they give, the funny texts and so on. The list just keeps growing and growing.

My Taste in Music

This is a subject that is pretty controversial among my friends... Because I really like a lot of bands, of musical genders, musicians, etc. And the reasons are not always the 'normal' type.

I could like a band only because at a certain point in my life, I had a crush on a boy that looked exactly like the drummer or something like that. Or because I used to listen to a similar song when I first traveled cross-country by myself... the reasons are endless and even pointless...

Even so, I think I have great taste in music ;))))

I just can't seem to find time for me. Just work work work...and even if I love my job, what I do and even if most times my job describes who I am, I just need some free time! Taking a break.

It won't happen in the near future, but one can dream.

Records

Starting yesterday, I finally managed to make my record player work. This after a few months of trying without succeeding! Believe me, I was almost at the point of giving up and buying a new one...

I really wanted to make the old one work, because it has sentimental value. Yep...it's worth something just to me, otherwise it's just a piece of junk...that looks really bad! Even so, I love it like crazy!
So, since yesterday we've been listening (at Atelier Arina Varga) to Earth,Wind and Fire, Aura Urziceanu, Rosu si Negru (a Romanian band), poetry by Mihai Eminescu and even a few stories...

At first I wanted to write "Boys About Girl"...

DIY - Pirate Style

For about more then a month now, I started (restarted is a more accurate therm)listening to vinyl records. Yep...I just forgot what I was missing on!
It's just all about that great-fantastic noise when the needle hits the record...Nothing, NOTHING can compare with that!

But, as some of you may know...vinyls are more and more hard to find these days. For example, my friends do have great ones that I can no longer get my hand on (without going bankrupt I guess...). So, as a problem-solving person I found a solution, that's at the same time fun and practical: How to pirate a vinyl record!!!
