Working! Work! Work...
And for the past two days my work consisted in drawing. Yes..I'm all back to the basics (all because of a SUPER project I'm in)

So...this project by Niall Staines fist like a glove! Funny and creative...perfect for those among us that still love to use the crayon. And if as a designer you find yourself re-using the wooden tool, why not make a font?! :))

QR Coded Fashion

So, let's start with the basics!

I really find it difficult to believe that some internet users don't know what a QR Code is. But it happened to me more then once to mention the notorious code and get a "what?!"

Panda Fashion

Who says they can't be cute and loveable?!?! Who am I talking about? Well, Karl Lagerfeld and Anna Wintour...because we all know Alber Elbaz is a sweetheart! ;))

Who is to blame for this? Well, it's all illustrator's Ben "Benda" Liu fault! And as far as I go...I'm happy he is "guilty" for this crime, because it's just so cute and funny! :))

Shoes on Your Desktop!

Well, we are talking about designer sketches of shoes. But still, it could work just fine, right? :))

So, all you have to do is visit the STYLIST site and download your favorite sketch form here! The designers? Georgina Goodman, Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik, Nicholas Kirkwood, Rupert Sanderson and Sergio Rossi.

You can also read what the designers had in mind when they designed that particular shoe. Now, my personal favorite is the Sergio Rossi sketch (the first one in this post) and this is what he had to say about them:

Pin-It-Up!

At a certain point in our life, I sure each one of you girls said to herself: When I'll grow-up I wanna be a pin-up model! That means: perfect, sexy, playful...and with wasp waist!!!:))

Now, this is how they did it (and still do it) back in the day when the first pin-up illustrations appeared. I guess here, like in fashion, it's all just an illusion! In reality: a girl in a basement! The finished product: a girl at the beach, at the like...in front of a fire! What is real?!...

Anyhow, after seeing this I remembered I wanted to do some sort of a pin-up shoot. That's why: Little Red, prepare!!! 'cause I know you'll love every minute of it!

Lanvin Kids

Yes! Yes! Yes!
I'm telling you all it's all real! Now, if all you baby-loving-fashionistas weren't sure about having a baby, not it's the time to do so! I'm telling you, it's a sign for the Fashion Gods! :)))Actually, this is a long-time dream at Lanvin! The founder, Jeanne Lanvin did sketches of designs for children and mothers until 1935!

Lanvin finally decides to lock in dates and introduce Alber Elbaz’s first designs for children alongside its resort collection. The 25-piece introductory line, for girls ages 4 to 10, will be produced in-house with a “superluxury approach,” according to Lanvin’s executive vice president Thierry Andretta.
The kids collection is to be unveiled in New York in mid-June, and be sold later in showrooms in Milan and Paris.

We can only be happy to hear this news! Can't wait to see the collection (that I'm sure we'll love). And who knows...maybe we'll dream about seeing the designs produced in our sizes! :)) Yeah...it wouldn't be the first time!!! :)))

Busy Bee

I've been working like crazy for the past few days, so I wasn't able to post as much as I was used to. Sorry all! But now I'm back! :)Because of my busy days, I wasn't able to attend a few events and I just wanted to say sorry to everybody. Meet Manuel Rebollo!

Let me just say from the start, that I'm very, very into this!
Manuel Rebollo has been for a while now one of my favorite fashion illustrators. So I can say I known his work for a while now.

But this is new stuff. Great stuff! What do I really like about this style of illustration? Besides the obvious (black and while with just a little color), I love the way the hair is done and also the eyes. You can just feel the drawing looking back at you!

Jason Wu and Net-A-Porter.com Marriage

This is great news for the up-coming brides (I'm winking towards a good friend of mine right now)! Designer Jason Wu is preparing a collaboration with net-a-porter.com (they don't need no introduction, I'm sure).It will be a small collation (or a capsule-collection, as they like to call it) with different styles of bridal dresses with a price range somewhere between $795 to $4,000. Not that much if we ask me. We are talking about bridal dresses. And believe me, they are the closest thing to haute couture!
The collection will be available in January 2011.

I wanted to create an exclusive bridal collection for Net-a-porter that is both youthful and injected with elements of American sportswear, which I favor for my collections.[...] The capsule collection includes wonderful options for a bride, but also has a relaxed attitude with pieces that can be worn to other occasions. -Jason Wu
