Fashion is Supposed to be FUN

Words of wisdom my friend! Words of wisdom!
Aaand, also my brand's motto...just to put it out there! But I'm sure you already knew that!
The other day, this got me thinking. People know about this motto, they talk about it, really enjoy it, but I don't think they truly believe in it. And that is just sad! Fashion is too diverse, full of different fabrics, colors, different cuts and shapes, filled with glitter, beads and whatever your mind can imagine!

So why take it so serious?! Something that is filled with opportunity can't be a stress factor! And I think that's why people make such fashion-mistakes. They stress too much about it, instead of simply letting it flow and enjoy the ride! ;)

That is why, the other day, I decided to show you all that fashion can be fun!
Of course it's a little crazy! Believe me, I know. I simply decided to go all the way, in order to prove my point and to make you smile! :D Did it work? I know it did! :)) Just like I know you are thinking what I'm thinking (my hair looks like a wig - the same in all the photos!!!)

How, dress up all nice and fancy and go outside to enjoy the sun!
kisses!

Time of the Blossom

Don't you just hate when Spring is playing tricks on you?
For a few days it's sunny and warm and the PUFFF! just like that, it's cold again and raining. It Sucks! That's what it does! I can't even describe in words (but I can...but I won't. It just won't be such a pleasant post) how upset I am with all that;s happening outside!!!

As soon as it started to warm-up I began making plans. Plans about the weekend, shootings, shoes to wear, light jackets and the list goes on. At this time, the sky is gloomy, people are feeling cold and everybody suffers for an incredible headache. If only it will start raining soon, maybe I'll feel better then.

I have a few meetings today, but I really don't feel like going out. Actually, I wanted to stay home this morning and fall asleep while watching something stupid on tv. But that's not the case today. Today I have to do my job while feeling miserable! Like sucks sometimes!

But there is always the visual inspiration to cheer me up! Like this awesome shooting. Me, I like to jump from link to link and find things I like. Usually, I save the ones that inspire me the most, in order to enjoy them on gloomy days! That's a perfect remedy!

Flowers, flowers, flowers all over! Uh...
I want Spring to be all year long!

the Crazy Cat Lady

It's been a while now since everybody noticed cats invading the internet. No secret here. No secret that fashion people are absolutely going crazy about cats and NO SECRET in the fact that I am going to become a crazy-cat-lady (maybe the Redhead will join me...actually, pretty sure about that)

Even so, I like to believe that petting a cat a day, keeps the doctor away! They are better then therapy and when you pet a cat while eating nutella, well...that's just haven my friend!

As a future CCL (Crazy-Cat-Lady!!!) I have my obsessions when it comes to my 2 pets (2 Russian Blue cats, Mitzi and Boris) and also to cats in general. Just take a look at my Instagram album!
Cat, over cats, over cats...and then some more cats. I work all day, and sometimes even nights, but still...the only think I seem capable of snapping a picture of, is a cat (or two...)

Crazy as it may seem, the cat-mania is here and it will stay for a long time.
If you are looking for someone to blame for that, I give you: the fashion world!!!
All designers have a soft spot when it comes to cats and I think it's mostly because of the way a feline acts. I too see great inspiration in the way cats look, walk, sleep. No wander one of the most popular words in fashion involves cats: catwalk!!!
Just so we can miau-miau all the way to a greater style!

Now, I like cats and I like fashion...why wouldn't I love cat-inspired fashion?!
I don't simply like a blouse with a cat on it! Even if this one...oh...I don't even know what to say...it's sooo bad, that I love it!!!
Mostly I like to be catty when it comes to the accessories. And if they get to be a little naughty, well...all for the better!

As The Aristocats said: Everybody wants to be a CAT!
And whom am I, to disagree?!? :)) Because a cat's the only cat who knows where it's at ;)

Who's Afraid of the HOT Pink?

Don't you dare say something!!!
I love pink! Even more, I love fuchsia!

Everybody is talking about this Summers trend, regarding this color. The IT color! You can read a pretty interesting article on the Thrill of the Heel blog. Anyways, yes people. This Summer we will live la vie en rose!...and I don't mind!

Now, don't panic and keep in mind that this color doesn't have to necessarily mean cut and girly. It can mean punk, it can mean rock and believe me, it can be a bad-ass color if you want it to be. All that pink or fuchsia do is put you in the spot light! So, be careful how you use them :)

If you don't really feel like wearing a full pink outfit (and, between you and me...that's pretty hard to pull of->BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE!), you can simply make the details of your outfit pink. Like a scarf in the hair, or a pair of cute stilettos. You know the drill!

All I really want is make you all accept pink for what it is!
It's not the mellow, scared, boring color most people think! Pink, for me, is POWER!

Now, enjoy Mia Wasikowska in a little/short pink story.

the Marimekko World of Colors

Nothing makes me happier then a good splash of color!

It's just like a drug for me and sincerely now...I take overdoses almost everyday! And there's nothing wrong with that + the Marimekko brand would more then agree on that statement!

On this occasion (me admitting my addictions) meet: Marimekko!!!
Ta-da-daaa-dam!
Their world is simply amazing! I want to move there and have a family, own 2 flamingos and ride bicycles on a velvet sky! The thing that I love the most is the incredible equilibrium the have with colors. And that's a very hard thing to do when you're playing with more the 3 colors (for some, even 2 is too much). Think about it. They have strong colors, all put together and on top of that, they mix different prints.
Marimekko team, I take my hat off to you. You are great, your work is fantastic and I absolutely love the world you created!
In 1962 Armi Ratia, the founder of Marimekko, defined Marimekko as "a cultural phenomenon guiding the quality of living". She built a utopia called Marikylä ("Marimekko Village"), whose aim was no less than to house the staffs and to function as a laboratory for product design and to develop new ways of life. This year Marimekko will bring to life the Marimekko Village of today.
To find out more about this Finnish brand, go to the Marimekko site. There, you'll see the team and their work + get to know more about them.

Below, you can see images from the ss//2013//lookbook.
Enjoy!

Stepping on Cartoons!

Well, here we have a collaboration on my taste! ;))
And that's no surprise, is it? There are cartoons, colors, shoes and fashion. There's nothing else I want (maybe more of all that?! yes...could be).

So, what do we have here? It's an installation created by designer Minna Parikka and artist Jani Leinonen, for the current exhibition Boutique: Where Art Meets Fashion, at Amos Anderson Gallery, in Helsinki. The result is absolutely fantastic and popping-cool! As a plus, they created 3 unique art/shoes, each numbered, signed and in a series of 25.

I don't know if you are familiar with Jani Leinonen's work. No stress, if you're not, we'll have a post on this pretty soon. Because I'm a super big-fan of this pop culture obsessive whose immersive installations toy are full of hidden messages. All this behind the friendly faces of big-brand iconography.
Creepy fun it is and I love it!So, enjoy the images and if you are in Helsinki or will be in the near future, keep in mind this: This is running – as an official event of Helsinki World Design Capital Year – until 12th November, there’s plenty of time left yet to catch the duo’s retina-popping installation.

PORC - Blame IT on Deliric!

I decided to make time for the blog!
There! I said it and it's going to happen!
Yes yes, you non-believer you! Wait and see!

So that's why, first of all, I'm going to post all the things I've been saving for about 2 or 3 months now. Why? Because I think they deserve to be on my blog! Here we go!

I'm pretty sure that by now you've all heard about PORC (it's in Romanian) and about the fact that Deliric must be blamed (for this...maybe even for all). Here are the PORC products, that I am truly obsessed with!
*porc: (ZOOLOGIE) pig, (CUISINE) pork
What do I like about it? Well, besides the fact that it's hilarious, I also love: the small details like the embroiled flying pig, the colorful prints, the bad-ass attitude they give, the funny texts and so on. The list just keeps growing and growing.

If you'll checkout the site, you'll see more products there. So...click, click away! :)From: Deliric1

The hot-cotton-candy of a Sunset

Last week (or was it the week before that?!). Not sure, I'm loosing track of time lately...:( No matter! A while ago, Bia asked me to help her (provide the outfits and advice) with a little photoshoot for her portfolio. You must know Bia!!! She the amazing hairstylist that's been helping me!

Back to the story (going crazy over here...it's true! If one stops posting for a long time, when they start again it just isn't the same!). I helped with 2 shootings (this one and another that you'll see soon...I HOPE!!!) and I simply had an amazing time!
The hair was great, the make-up was simply out of this world (by the lovely Monica Popmark), the photographers were eager to snap!snap! and the girls were so much fun!

Now, there was a little problem. This shooting took place on top of a hotel in Arad. Yep...and (of course) I'm afraid of heights!!! But not the models...they were running around in high heels and long-super-sized dresses, like they were at ground level. No stress... It killed me.
I was like a mom up-there 'Sweetie, please come closer! Stop standing there! Let me hold you foot...or something!!!' Yep...and they laughed and laughed...I'm getting old! :(

But I would do it any single day!!!photo: Maria Cristiana

Fashionable Mail

I'm not talking about that mail that needs 'internet connection'. No, now we'll be talking about the good-old-fashioned mail, that needs paper, a pen, an envelope and...a STAMP!

Why? Well, Johnson Banks have designed a set of postage stamps that celebrate the last 60 years of British fashion. I'm just wondering, are they trying to make the postal office cool again?! Joking...but, really now, I wouldn't mind getting (or writing) a real letter from time to time. Actually, one of my favorite activity while on vacation, is sending postcards!

Now, start planning how in your life is cool/nice/sweet/good enough to deserve a letter from you! I know I am doing the same thing!Text from Johnson Banks (pretty cool, enjoy!):
The great British fashion stamps have been created by London-based graphic designers Johnson Banks, who commissioned highly respected fashion photographer Sølve Sundsbø to photograph 10 outfits chosen to summaries the last 60 years of British fashion. live models – as opposed to static fashion mannequins – were used to achieve dynamic postures and a sense of movement. the models had to embody the ideal silhouettes of the various fashion eras and fit perfectly into the surviving existing garments.

The two-day photo shoot took place at Sundsbø’s London studio. some of the clothes were obtained directly from the designers, whilst others were sourced from specialist vintage fashion stores. Johnson Banks worked closely with the photographer and his assistants, stylists and hair and wig artists. Following the shoot, the features of the models and the background were erased from the images in order to focus the viewer’s gaze upon each of the distinctive British fashion designs.

'It’s hard to make clothes look interesting if no one’s wearing them,' explains Johnson Banks creative director Michael Johnson. 'on a tailor’s dummy they seem flat and lifeless. on the other hand, we didn’t want models or celebrities to distract from the design, which is what we are celebrating.
For example, there’s a great photo of Ringo Starr wearing a classic Tommy Nutter suit in the 1970s, but you just think, ‘there’s a great photo of Ringo’ and don’t look at the suit.'

Johnson and co-designer Kath Tudball decided on a radical compromise: shoot the clothes being modelled for real but then digitally remove the faces and hands. First, however, they had to actually get hold of the precious artifacts, which meant the long process of persuading the designers or their estates to loan them out for a few days or sourcing them from obliging vintage stores (a task that took over three months).

The striking images finally came together during a two-day shoot June 2011. afterwards, judicious cropping and retouching were used to bring out the lines, textures and movement of the garments – for once, it was the clothes that were striking a pose.
