Ready For the Heat?
Like most of you, I too struggle with the effects Summer has on my body!
In May, the almost suicidal mission starts. ;))) I exaggerate, of course...but partially it's true. First, you say good-bye to everything you like and then you start doing/eating everything you hate!
No fun...sports and diets and creams and so on. I just don't know why I don't take care of my body all year long. :( It would be a lot easier... But 'easy' is NOT my middle name! I complicate things...
That's what we do: everything possible to reach the 'ideal' body.
But, did you ever think about it as 'the ideal body of OUR generation'? This retro add I found reminded me of how beauty was always a different thing, a different feeling, always depending on the period of time.

And with that being sad, let m tell you what I think.
Beauty: what one likes, loves, appreciates...it regards our taste in everything.
In Romania, we have a saying (one that I use a lot):
Have a great Summer!!!:*

Gusturile nu se discuta! That refers to the fact that 'tastes' a too personal to try to convince somebody otherwise. Don't you agree?
Tastes (in fashion/culture/wine/food/decorations etc.) are not a subject of discussion
Have a great Summer!!!:*

Is It Fashionable?
In order to start a debate here, we need to understand the therm: fashionable [ˈfæʃənəbəl]Well, I guess most of you are familiar with the word...but almost all of us use it to describe something in connection to the world of fashion.
adj
1. conforming to fashion; in vogue
2. of, characteristic of, or patronized by people of fashion a fashionable café
3. (usually foll by with) patronized (by); popular (with)
fashionability , fashionableness n
fashionably adv
This is how the Amnesty International campaign started.
Ironic, of course.
With great visual impact and also heavy as far as the message, the campaign goes right to the point. So, is it FASHIONABLE to...?

Where Is The Beauty?
I just saw this ad in one of my fashion books.
So, really now! Where is the beauty?
The old-school beauty?
The kind of beauty that makes you turn your head on the street, no matter if male or female!
...I'm missing (and I'm sure so are you) the classic beauty!

QR Coded Fashion
So, let's start with the basics!
Project name: High fashion meets new technology
Artist: Yiying Lu
commissioned by: Meets Obsession Magazine
I really find it difficult to believe that some internet users don't know what a QR Code is. But it happened to me more then once to mention the notorious code and get a "what?!"
Now that I got that of my chest, I must admit I'm in love with QR Codes! I would code everything!!! Fun fun fun! It's like tag! I guess...:))) How about you? How do you feel about the codes? :)

Internet Addictions
...in no particular order! ;)))We must thank Andrea Vascellari for this internet-vices illustrations! So, thank you! Yep...it's all true! Or, as my friends would say: it's funny because it's true!
Might as well face it: you, just like me, are addicted to the Internet and all it's fun fun fun! Social platforms, blogs, sites bla-bla-bla. I just don't know anymore. I just know I get intoxicated on them everyday and I don't wanna stop!
Is it bad for me? It sure is!
Should I just stop? Nope...maybe longer brakes!
It's the era of communication! The internet made it...and maybe the internet will end it!..actually, I'm pretty sure that's how it will happen.
But until then, enjoy and have a laugh! ;)

Find YOUR Book!
As I am watching the news on tv, the Romanian news...this ad campaign keeps repeating in my mind. Images of my favorite book-characters are rolling over and over in my mind, as I am watching the disaster in the Romanian Education System...
It is sad, it is unbelievable! I won't get too much into the subject (if you are not Romanian: many Romanian high-school graduates weren't able to promote a basic exam, mandatory at the end of school. Something like the SAT, but way easier!!!). That is was I agree with Gandhi's Bookstore! Books are absolutely necessary in our development, because there one can learn priceless life-lessons!

Alice (from Alice in Wonderland) reading LSD by Timothy Leary:
Little Red Riding Hood reading Steppenwolf by Hermann Hesse:
Gregor Samsa (from The Metamorphosis) reading One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez (this is my favorite book):

How would the stories in classic fairytales and works of fiction have turned out if the protagonist read one of these suggested books? Would Alice have actually enjoyed staying in Wonderland? Would Little Red Riding Hood have empathized with the wolf? Hard to say.Advertising Agency: Ogilvy & Mather, México

Have a Coke! DIET!
I want one!...and I really hate Coke! But I want to be seen holding one of those adorable bottles! Plss! And who better to shoot the fantastic trio (Coco Rocha, Jeneil Williams and Heidi Mount)? Non other then Karl Lagerfeld, also the one responsible for the design of the bottles!
Sugar-bubble-pop!
It just looks delicious!
Now, you can find out more about the concept behind the design for the new Diet Coke and about the shooting, from the video at the end of the post!
The story behind it is very clear and clever! Enjoy!

Some of Us are MarriedToTheMOB!
:))) I am crazy about this brand! Yes, I even know why! They had me at "hello!" (that is when I first read/saw their name). I'll get Married to the MOB! Me! Me! Me! :)))As far as the collection goes, they are sticking to their true style: cute, sassy and with a (small) perverted twist! Guess that's what being Married to the MOB is all about! And it's just so true: I want what I want when I want!
*a little detail: I just love the re-make of the Lady Gaga Supreme t-shirt ads! Sooo funny! These girls have guts and they are fantastic for that!

Words Hurt

“You can’t see them but the scars from verbal abuse are real and can last for years.” An awareness campaign on verbal abuse for KAFAThis is so true!
Words, sometimes hurt more then a slap...and even if they don't leave visible scars, the pain remains and only grows!

Image of a Black Swan
The Black Swan movie is a must see on my "to do list". All thanks to Simo (aka. the Drama Queen) who went crazy on me with this movie, a few months ago. Well, I can only agree with her.You can see how amazing the movie is, only by looking at this 4 fantastic teaser posters! It's the work of British design studio LaBoca (and they did do a great work).
Uh...love the retro feeling of the posters. Makes you wanna take the girls out for a movie!
