Mommy's Little Princess!

This week, was my mom's birthday (May 21st). But with all the work I have, I didn't get to wish her an on-line Happy Birthday! She is great and as far as style, she is a true inspiration to me.When she was about my age (even younger) she used to make her on clothes (pieces I am still wearing, because they are just so fabulous). She combined crazy colors and different fabrics, things that normally wouldn't go great together. But even with all the craziness, she still had as simplicity about her, a clean and fresh look. I love it!

She collects shoes (like a true fashionista).
She wears white, but doesn't get dirty (no matter what).
She managed to spend her whole life on high-heels.
She matches the color of her shoes to the color (and fabric) of her purse, because she will always be a lady (keepin' it old school)
And...oh, she was in love with Lennon! :))))))

So, A Late Happy Birthday Mommy, you are my inspiration! :)

Cute and at the same time office appropriate! Here is the Office-Party Dress:If you like it and are interested in getting one for yourself (even in another color) e-mail me!

How to 2: Creat A Yamamoto Design

Now you have the original pattern of a certain garment. It is hard to see what it is just looking at it. The fabric should be some kind of wool... Then, you have the photo that tells you a little bit more. Take a close look at the symbols that are inscribed on the pattern. They are important leads to construct the garment. Now, spread your imagination and good luck! - Yohji Yamamoto, May 2002

Sounds crazy enough? Well this is one of my best finds ever! I'm so happy about it!!! Very, very exited, even if it's a simple design, it's free and it's from one of my favorite fashion-artists (because he is an artist).
Here is what you're supposed to come up with (PS. I'm gonna try to make it one of these days. If you also try to make it, please send me pictures!):You can find the tutorial here, at SHOWstudio, with all the details needed!

How to 1 : Make a Sock Monster

I'm feeling like a "how-to" girl these week (exams my have something to do with that). So, I'm going to shear with you a few of my finds (interesting, useful, funny ... no matter what). If I'll like it, I'll post it (won't mind if you too shear!)

So, here (click for pdf) it is, the oh so popular SSSSOCK Monsterrrr! Scared?:))

It really comes in handy if you have lots of pair-less socks (like me)...I don't know what's happening to them, they just seem to go away (I hope that in a happier place then the washing machine).

I'm Just a Dreamer

Today was a perfect sunny Sunday...the perfect chance to dream about the future. What I realized is that I'm a true dreamer; a professional one! Everyday I catch myself dreaming with my eyes opened!

Dreaming about the future, sewing machines, fabrics, fabric printing machines, overloaded book shelfs... I dream about little girls seeing my dresses in magazines and dreaming of wearing them one day. I dream about fantastic photoshoots, with amazing light and models, in amazing places...

Yes, I'm just a dreamer!

New Stuff!

Here are 2 new summer 2-face jackets (one side with the print, the other clean white) from Arina Varga (yes, I'm referring to myself on 3ed bases). The first one was inspired by Alice in Wonderland; the Cheshire Cat to be more precise! If you'll zoom, you'll see the cat on the jacket. The second one is more of a vest, also hand-painted, with colorful clothes! Fun, but at the same time serious, just by flipping to the other side!

Bought of them are available starting today. You can also find them on my site (www.arinavarga.ro) in the on-line store section, together with other products!

I Wish...

- to thank you all for visiting me from time to time
- to send hugs and kisses to My Hero, for all his support
- to take Diana and Jul and Deea and Adina and Gabriela and Roxana out for partying (I'm sure it would be a night to remember)
- to say to Ioana and Gabi from KF, that they have it all: great coffee and great company!
- to challenge my friends to another Risk gameAll in one, I want to say I'm happy for having all of you in my life. So far, you made me a better person / designer. Thank You!

Yes She Can!

Recently, o video of Diana Bobar ( a fellow young designer from Timisoara) has been circling the net and TV channels from Romania. I just wanted to share it with all of you (sorry it's in Romanian), because I think it's special...special as in good, not weird! At the moment, I think she is the only one who understand me (from the young designer point of view), even tough she has way more advanced in the industry. She has proved that with hard work and huge amounts passion success is possible! A person can really evolve if she or he put their mind to it.

Diana Bobar is a person that I admire a lot. She is a person that I expect a lot from, because I know she can!
